India is celebrating 74th Republic Day today on 26 January. Kartavyapath parade will start in a while. For the first time, there will be a parade on the Kartavyapath on the occasion of Republic Day. Earlier this place was known as Rajpath. A glimpse of ‘New India’ will be seen in this parade.
First Time Tribal President Draupadi Murmu Takes The Salute
Kartavyapath became history this time on Republic Day. For the first time in the country, tribal woman President Draupadi Murmu took the salute of the parade. As per tradition, the national flag was unfurled followed by the national anthem with a 21-gun salute. For the first time, a 21-gun salute was given by a 105 mm Indian field gun. These field guns replaced the older 25 pounder guns, reflecting the growing ‘self-reliance’ in the defense sector. Four Mi-17 1V/V5 helicopters of 105 Helicopter Unit showering flowers on the spectators on duty.
Along with this, there will be a display of indigenous military might and women power. Cultural diversity will be seen in the tableaux of the states. Along with this, 50 aircraft of the Air Force will show their might.
President Draupadi Murmu will lead the nation from the path of duty. This time on Republic Day, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will be the chief guest.
Special arrangements made to watch the parade
Different arrangements have been made to watch the parade. Chairs have been placed on the vertical platform so that people sitting behind can also watch the parade easily. This time about 12 thousand passes and about 32 thousand online tickets have been distributed to watch the parade.
