Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Sadanand Gowda said that this drug has been allocated to the states and union territories till May 16 to ensure smooth supply of the drug Remedisvir used in the treatment of Kovid-19 across the country. . Earlier, the Union Minister said on Tuesday that the production capacity of Remedesvir has been increased to 1.03 crore vials per month, which was earlier from 38 lakh vials per month.
On Friday, he wrote on Twitter that given the need for Remedesvir in every state and ensuring its adequate availability, Remedesivir has been allotted till May 16, 2021. This will ensure that there is an easy supply of Remedisvir in the country so that no patient has to face difficulty during this time of epidemic.

Earlier on Tuesday, Union Minister Sadanand Gowda said that a meeting was held to take stock of the availability of medicines for the treatment of Kovid-19 disease and the government is keeping an eye on the availability of other essential medicines. The Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers also said that the manufacturing companies are engaged in increasing the production capacity of Remedesivir medicine and now 1.03 crore vials are being produced per month as compared to the earlier 38 lakh vials.
Gowda wrote on Twitter that he took stock of the availability of medicines needed to treat Kovid in the meeting. Tagging the Prime Minister’s Office in his tweet, he said that the meeting was attended by Pharma Secretary of DCGI, Chairperson of NPPA and Joint Secretaries of Ministry of Health, Department of Pharmaceuticals and National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Authority (NPPA). The Union Minister also said that the government is also monitoring the availability of other essential medicines.
