India recorded 24,372 deaths in 24–30 May. The number of deaths occurring every day has also come down to 3000, which is possible after 34 days.

There has been a decline in new cases of corona in the country for the last few days. But the death toll was also seen to increase steadily. At the same time, according to the report, a decline in mortality has also been seen. On Sunday, the death rate has been reduced by 17 percent. This is the first fall in 12 weeks. Even after 34 days, the daily death toll has fallen below 3,000.
Meanwhile, the second wave of Corona is now receding in all the states and union territories except a few in the Northeast and Ladakh. The third week saw a decline in the latest cases of corona virus, while the highest decline in corona cases so far this week was seen in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Assam, states that started decreasing last week. With 12.95 lakh new infections recorded in May 24-30, the number of weekly cases declined by 27% over the previous week, the highest in the second wave.
How many deaths since March
Between 24 and 30 May 24,372 deaths were recorded in the country. Which is about 5,000 less than the previous week’s toll of 29,331. These include previous deaths included in the figures in Maharashtra and Uttarakhand during this period. The weekly mortality rate was last seen in the week of March 1-7. In the month of May alone, the number of COVID in the country has so far crossed 1.15 lakh.
Statistics also show that for the first time since 26 April, the deaths on Sunday have fallen below 3,000. 2,722 deaths were recorded in the country, 412 deaths on Sunday in Maharashtra were not counted, which was above the 402 figure in the day. The state has added around 6,000 chronic deaths in the last two weeks.
Of the 36 states and union territories of the country, only five registered an increase in cases as compared to the previous seven days. States and Union Territories which have recorded growth including Sikkim, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Ladakh, while other states of the country are registering a decline in cases of infection. It is a matter of relief that the death rate due to corona infection has also started coming down.
