Referring to the schemes, the Union Minister said – Agriculture sector and farmers have prospered since 2014

Narendra Singh Tomar said that according to the survey, a total of 12.5 crore farmers are eligible to take advantage of the scheme. So far 11.5 crore farmers are getting benefited from this and the remaining one crore farmers will also be linked to PM Kisan Yojana soon.

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that both agriculture and farmers have prospered since 2014. In the same year, the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power by winning the Lok Sabha elections with an absolute majority. During this, the Agriculture Minister gave information about the schemes of the government and the benefits received from them.

He said that our government has implemented many schemes for the welfare of farmers and to increase their income, which is benefiting them. Tomar said that some schemes like MSP of 1.5 times the cost, Kisan Credit Card and PM Kisan Samman Nidhi have benefited the farmers in a big way.

Responding to a question asked about PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Tomar said that this is a continuous scheme. To take advantage of the scheme, farmers have to verify themselves. He said that the Central Government has so far given 1.60 lakh crore rupees to 11.5 crore farmer families under PM Kisan.

6000 rupees are sent every year

Under the PM Kisan Yojana, Rs 6000 is sent to the farmer family through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The central government releases money every four months in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each. PM Kisan Samman Nidhi is a scheme fully funded by the Central Government, that is, the Government of India bears all its expenses.

Benefits of many schemes

The minister said that the central government has implemented many programs, schemes and new policies with a strategy to increase the income of farmers. He said that this strategy of increasing the income of the farmers is ensured with the participation of the state governments.

The Agriculture Minister further said that all the policies and programs have high budgetary allocation and are being supported by non-budgetary financial resources to provide corpus funds like micro irrigation and other similar facilities. Regarding Uttar Pradesh, he said that many programs and schemes are being implemented to increase the income of the farmers.
