Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha member Sushil Kumar Modi has been made the head of the Parliamentary Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice. He replaces Bhupendra Yadav, who joined the Union Cabinet a few months back.

Deputy Leader of Congress in Rajya Sabha Anand Sharma will continue to chair the Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs and Jairam Ramesh will also continue to be the chairman of the Committee on Science and Technology, Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Congress Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor will continue to serve as the chairman of the Committee on Information Technology. According to the bulletin issued by the secretariats of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the reconstitution of committees for the year 2021-22 will be effective from September 13.

BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad, who resigned from the post of minister during the last reshuffle of the Union Cabinet, has become a member in the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, while former Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has been included as a member in the Parliamentary Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice. went.

Former Chief Justice and Rajya Sabha MP Ranjan Gogoi has been included as a member in the Committee on Information Technology, while BJP’s Lok Sabha member Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur has been made a member in the Committee on Railways.

The party’s Vijayasai Reddy of the YSR Congress has been once again made the head of the Standing Committee on Commerce, while Ram Gopal Yadav of the Samajwadi Party’s Committee on Health and Family Welfare, TRS leader K. Keshav Rao will chair the Committee on Industries, DMK leader Kanimozhi will chair the Committee on Chemicals and Fertilizers and Rajiv Ranjan Singh of JDU will chair the Committee on Energy.

Sudip Bandopadhyay of Trinamool Congress will continue to be the chairman of the committee on food, consumer and public distribution, while B.J. Bhartrihari Mahtab will head the committee on labor. The heads of committees related to other departments have not changed. Most of the committees are headed by BJP MPs. Every year 24 standing committees related to the departments are constituted. Each committee consists of 21 members from the Lok Sabha and 10 from the Rajya Sabha.
