Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha member Sushil Kumar Modi has been made the head of the Parliamentary Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice. He replaces Bhupendra Yadav, who joined the Union Cabinet a few months back.
Deputy Leader of Congress in Rajya Sabha Anand Sharma will continue to chair the Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs and Jairam Ramesh will also continue to be the chairman of the Committee on Science and Technology, Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Congress Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor will continue to serve as the chairman of the Committee on Information Technology. According to the bulletin issued by the secretariats of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the reconstitution of committees for the year 2021-22 will be effective from September 13.

The heads of committees related to other departments have not changed. Most of the committees are headed by BJP MPs. Every year 24 standing committees related to the departments are constituted.
