In India, about 81 crore people get ration on subsidy. Under the National Food Security Act, ration card holders get 3 kg rice and 2 rupees per kg wheat from the government. Every month ration card holders take food grains from the dealer’s place. Many times the dealers start making excuses for not giving ration and sometimes they even give food grains less than the fixed quota.
If you are also a ration card holder and your dealer also does this to you or does not give food grains every month, then you can complain about it. On the basis of your complaint, the concerned officers will investigate and if the allegations are found to be true, action can also be taken against the dealer. Many times the licenses of dealers who work against the rules are also canceled.
We have told you about complaining, but where, how and on which number you will complain, now we give information about this. Helpline numbers have been issued for every state by the government. You can register a complaint against the ration dealer by contacting these helplines.
You can also find the number required to file a complaint on the National Food Security Portal. There the state wise number is given. From there you can call the number and file a complaint against the dealer by giving the necessary information. These numbers are toll free i.e. you will not have to pay any fee for talking on these numbers.
You can take the number by visiting the portal created for National Food Security, but we are giving the numbers of all the states here for you so that you can use them if needed.
