CM Ashok Gehlot

The problems of Agrasen Gehlot, brother of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, do not seem to be diminishing in the fertilizer scam case. Once again Agrasen Gehlot has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to Delhi office for questioning. This is the third time in two weeks that Agrasen has been called by the ED for questioning. Agrasen Gehlot was earlier questioned by the ED on September 27 and 30. On September 30, the ED had asked him to appear again on October 11.

Let us tell you that for questioning in the Fertilizer scam case, ED can call CM’s brother for questioning even further. Let us inform that on September 27, Agrasen Gehlot was interrogated for about 5 hours in the Delhi office of ED in this scam.

Case filed against Agrasen Gehlot in 2020

In July 2020, the ED had registered a case against Agrasen Gehlot in the fertilizer scam case. ED teams raided several locations including farm house and firms in Agrasen Gehlot’s Jodhpur. In the raid, the ED had seized documents related to fertilizer export. The ED’s raids on the premises of the CM’s brother Agrasen took place last year when Congress MLAs were under fencing during the revolt of the Sachin Pilot camp. At that time Congress had alleged that this action was taken out of revenge.

ED cannot arrest Agrasen Gehlot

The Jodhpur Bench of the Rajasthan High Court has stayed the arrest of Agrasen Gehlot in the Fertilizer scam case. As long as the stay of the High Court continues, the ED cannot arrest Agrasen Gehlot in this case. The High Court, while relieving Gehlot from arrest, had asked him to cooperate in the investigation of the ED. After this, Agrasen Gehlot is appearing for continuous questioning on the summons of ED.

Let us inform that Agrasen Gehlot is accused of wrongly exporting fertilizers given to farmers on subsidy at exorbitant prices. It is alleged that Agrasen Gehlot’s company had exported the subsidized fertilizer to many other countries including Malaysia, citing a large amount of chemical.
