Millions of youth will be shocked
Abolishing these posts in railways will be a shock to lakhs of youth. For years, the youth were facing the age limit of preparing and waiting for recruitment in Prayagraj, but now the news of the termination of the posts is a double attack of unemployment on lakhs of youth. Just before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Railways had taken out bumper recruitments. At that time, the Railways had informed that by 2021, 4 lakh posts would be appointed. On 2 February 2019, Piyush Goyal tweeted that the recruitment process is going on for 1.50 lakh posts, 2.50 lakh posts will be recruited in the next 2 years.
Disappointing for the youth to end the post fast
In February 2019, Railways released the notification of recruitment in Non-Technical Popular Category. More than one crore youth applied for these recruitments. We do not have the data of how many posts have been appointed out of these. In 2020, the then Railway Minister Piyush Goyal told in the Lok Sabha that there are 2 lakh 90 thousand posts of Group D and C vacant in the Railways. The speed with which the posts are getting exhausted in the railways is disappointing for the youth. Till 2 February 2019, the railway which was looting applause by giving 4 lakh jobs, while the railways is now destroying the jobs.
