Know how many seats are voted in which state
Voting is going on in 40 seats in Assam. With this, the voting process will end here. Voting is going on in 31 seats in West Bengal. There are five more rounds of voting to be held here. On May 2, votes will be counted in the four states and Puducherry. Hooghly (8), Howrah (7), South 24 Parganas (16) are included. 205 candidates are in the fray for the third phase. A maximum of 11 candidates are in fray in the Highmond Harbor seat. The high profile candidate in this phase includes BJP’s Swapan Dasgupta, who is contesting from Tarakeswar seat. Voting will also be held on 10, 17, 22, and 29 April in Bengal.
832 companies of central security forces have been deployed in the state for security purposes. Of these, 214 Quick Response Teams are deployed in security in the phase. Section 144 has been imposed in the entire state. There are five more rounds of polling to be held.
