The civil surgeon says that 200 vaccination vans will be ready soon. In addition, mobile teams are performing RT-PCR tests of people seen without masks.
In fact, on the previous day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high level meeting and directed the officials that the states will have to take tough and comprehensive steps to deal with this phase of transition of Kovid-19. To prevent the spread of infection, he suggested implementing a five-stage strategy – testing, tracing, treatment, covid behavior and vaccination with sincerity and commitment.
He also stressed the need for sustainable management of the epidemic and increasing social awareness in this regard, as well as public participation and continuation of mass movement. Simultaneously, the meeting raised concerns over the situation in Maharashtra, Punjab and Chhattisgarh and in view of this, the Prime Minister directed to send a central team of public health experts and doctors to these states.
Corona figures in Punjab
In Punjab, 3,019 new cases of coronovirus were reported on Sunday. At the same time, the figures of death of 51 infected people were recorded. With this, the total number of infected people in the state has increased to 2,51,460 and the death toll has reached 7,083. The number of active cases in the state is 25,314. Apart from this, 446 new cases were reported in Ludhiana. At the same time, Jalandhar (387), Mohali (329) and Amritsar (271) were recorded.
Corona figures in the country
There have been 1,03,558 new cases of coronavirus in India in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of positive cases has increased to 1,25,89,067. During this period, the number of total deaths has increased to 1,65,101 after 478 new deaths. The total number of active cases in the country is 7,41,830 and the total number of discharged cases is 1,16,82,136. A total of 7,91,05,163 people have been vaccinated with the Corona virus in the past day. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, a total of 24,90,19,657 sample tests have been done for Corona in India till Sunday, of which 8,93,749 samples were tested yesterday.
