232.48 lakh metric tonnes of wheat have been procured in 10 states of the country. Most of the government purchases have been made in Punjab. Whereas here, this process started with a delay of 10 days compared to other states. So far, 90.40 lakh metric tonnes of wheat have been procured here. Out of this, 7.54 lakh tonnes was purchased by Food Corporation of India (FCI). The purchase will run here till 31 May. Punjab has set a target of purchasing 130 lakh metric tonnes of wheat at the minimum support price (MSP).
Punjab had purchased 127.14 lakh metric tonnes of wheat in the Rabi marketing season 2020-21. In return, 10,49,982 farmers got Rs 24474.45 crore. This time also the Punjab government is purchasing wheat at the fastest speed. In Punjab, there was a dispute with the central government over payment on wheat procurement. Because the Punjab government wanted to pay the MSP to the farmers through adhatiyas. While the central government had asked to send money directly to the bank account of the farmers.

In the case of wheat procurement, Haryana is at number two. Where 72.24 lakh metric tonnes have been procured. Out of this, 5.60 lakh tonnes have been purchased by FCI. 54.77 lakh tonnes have been procured in Madhya Pradesh. 6.05 lakh tonnes have been procured in Rajasthan and 6.05 lakh tonnes in UP.
In a statement issued by the Haryana government, it has been said that till now 8 lakh 39 thousand 451 J forms of 4 lakh 77 thousand 623 farmers have been created, out of which about 7575 crore rupees will be paid directly to the accounts of farmers Has been done
The spokesman said that instructions have been issued to all concerned agencies to ensure that the wheat raised in the mandis is lifted on a daily basis so that the farmers do not face any difficulty in selling their produce.
Apart from this, the duty of senior officers has been imposed by the government for inspection of mandis so that there is no obstruction in the procurement work.
During the Rabi Marketing Season (RMS) 2020-21, 43 lakh 35 thousand 972 farmers sold wheat at the minimum support price (MSP). Out of this, 7 lakh 80 thousand 962 farmers were from Haryana. These farmers had received 14 thousand 245 crore rupees.
