Speculations of alliance are also being made because former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had insisted on a solution to the agricultural laws and also praised the government after the decision to withdraw the agricultural laws.
Former Punjab CM Amarinder Singh meets Haryana CM
Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh recently announced the name of his new political party. The name of Singh’s party is Punjab Lok Congress. At the same time, the proximity of Amarinder Singh to BJP leaders is indicating that there may be some big upheaval in the Punjab Assembly elections.
Today, former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh reached the residence of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in Chandigarh. With the arrival of the former CM at Khattar’s residence, speculations are once again being made in the political corridors about his closeness with the BJP. He also met Home Minister Amit Shah before the announcement of his new party and after resigning as the Chief Minister of Punjab.

Why talk of possible alliance happening
The alliance is being talked about more because former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had insisted on solving agricultural laws. He had said that things in Punjab should be resolved to get back to normal. Amarinder Singh had said that if these laws were not repealed, the villagers would not allow campaigning for the assembly elections to be held next year. Amarinder had also said that if you can’t have a solution to the farm issues and the three laws, then none of us will be able to go for the campaign, because the farmers will not allow you to enter the villages.
Did BJP play big bets?
The withdrawal of agricultural laws was seen as a master stroke by the BJP in view of the upcoming assembly elections. However, the path of BJP in Punjab is not easy. In the assembly elections to be held on 117 seats, the BJP currently has only 3 assembly seats in its account. This time in the Punjab Assembly elections, a multi-cornered contest is expected between the ruling Congress, Akali Dal, Bahujan Samaj Party alliance, Aam Aadmi Party and BJP. In such a situation, it will have to play another big bet to make the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party look strong in Punjab.
Amarinder’s role is important
With the decision to withdraw the agricultural laws, Amarinder Singh, the former chief of the state, has also been busy showing his ways to go with the BJP open to the public. They are trying hard to show that the Modi government has taken a big step for the betterment of the farmers of Punjab by announcing the withdrawal of agricultural laws. That is, now even if he goes with the BJP, then he will be able to get the same support that he got in the 2017 assembly elections while in the Congress. After the Prime Minister’s announcement, Singh had indicated that he was ready to work with the BJP-led central government on the issue of farmers. Singh had also recently met Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
So will the grassroots leader get support?
He had said that I had been raising this issue with the Center for more than a year and had met Narendra Modi ji and Amit Shah ji and requested them to listen to the voice of our Annadata. Really happy that they listened to the farmers and understood our concerns. I look forward to working closely with the BJP-led Center (government) for the development of farmers. I promise the people of Punjab that I will not sit in peace till I wipe the tears from every eye. In such a situation, if Amarinder Singh joins hands with BJP, then this will give the party the support of another grassroots leader.
