After his resignation, 58-year-old Congress high command’s Charanjit Singh Channi took oath as the 16th Chief Minister of Punjab at Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh in the presence of Governor Banwarilal Purohit. Apart from Channi, two deputy CMs Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and OP Soni also took oath. The new Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi is a three-time MLA from Chamkaur Sahib and a vocal critic of the former CM and a close aide of Navjot Sidhu.
