Actually, former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has been in a lot of discussion for the last few days. Recently, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh along with his Council of Ministers submitted his resignation to the state Governor Banwarilal Purohit after infighting at the hands of PPCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu and his associates. Amarinder Singh, however, clarified that his resignation from the post of Chief Minister does not mean that he is exiting the political arena of Punjab.
Charanjit Singh Channi appointed as 16th Chief Minister of Punjab
After his resignation, 58-year-old Congress high command’s Charanjit Singh Channi took oath as the 16th Chief Minister of Punjab at Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh in the presence of Governor Banwarilal Purohit. Apart from Channi, two deputy CMs Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and OP Soni also took oath. The new Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi is a three-time MLA from Chamkaur Sahib and a vocal critic of the former CM and a close aide of Navjot Sidhu.
