Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Sunday targeted Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh (CM Amarinder Singh). Badal said that nothing can be expected from the leader who did not visit the assembly constituency in the parliamentary constituency of his wife, Parneet Kaur, even once. The SAD leader said this while referring to the Dera Bassi assembly seat, which falls under the Patiala Lok Sabha constituency represented by Parneet Kaur.

Addressing a gathering in Zirakpur, he also claimed that the previous government led by the Shiromani Akali Dal had spent Rs 1,256 crore on the development of the assembly constituency. Badal said that Punjabi cannot expect anything from the Chief Minister who is not ready to leave his farmhouse to visit a constituency on the outskirts of Chandigarh.

‘Amarinder visited office only 11 times in four years’

He claimed, “Amarinder Singh visited his office only 11 times in four years. This is why the state has lagged behind in all parameters. All the facilities provided to the people by former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal have been withdrawn. ” He also accused the Chief Minister of not taking action against corrupt Congress leaders.

Amarinder Singh wrote a letter to the Union Food Minister

On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has written to the Union Food Minister demanding a Rural Development Fund (RDF) equal to three percent instead of one percent of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) during the Kharif Marketing Session 2020-21. The Chief Minister said in the letter that one percent of the MSP’s RDF is contradictory as per section five of the Punjab Rural Development Act, 1987.

Singh told Union Minister Piyush Goyal that even the notified RDF is contradictory to the department’s letter dated 24 February 2020, in which the revised principles of procurement were prepared as per the advice of the states. He said that no unilateral reduction in the rate of RDF is according to the principles of procurement nor is it according to the law passed by the State Legislative Assembly. He said that in this way the federal structure of the country has been damaged.
