The Election Commission has released the results of the Assembly Election held on April 6 in the Union Territory of Puducherry. The BJP alliance has managed to get a majority with 16 seats. BJP’s ally NR Congress has won 10 seats and its ally BJP has won 6 seats. At the same time, the Congress has got only 2 seats. DMK candidate K Ramachandran was contesting from the Coonoor assembly seat, he has won. He defeated AIDMK Ummadivar by a margin of 4,105 votes. At the same time DMK candidate from Tiruchendur Assembly seat Anita Radhakrishnan defeated the AIDMK candidate by 25263 votes.

BJP candidate A John Kumar has hoisted the victory of victory from Kamarajnagar seat. Kumar came to BJP from Congress. a. John Kumar contested from Kamaraj Nagar, from where he had won twice as a Congress candidate. a. John Kumar’s son Richard John Kumar has also won.

At the same time, Richard John Kumar managed to win from Nelithop assembly constituency by a narrow margin of 496 votes. He defeated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) candidate V. Karthikeyan from here. Congress’s M Vaidyanathan defeated state BJP president V Saminathan. Vaidyanathan came to the Congress from AINRC. In the last assembly election, BJP did not get a single seat.
3 out of 33 members are nominated
There are a total of 33 assembly seats in Puducherry. Of these, 30 MLAs are elected through elections, while three are nominated by the Center. The last time i.e. in 2016, the Center was nominated as a member of the BJP for the post of MLA.
