Prophet Muhammad Remark: OIC’s remark was rejected by the Ministry of External Affairs, saying – Government of India gives respect to all religions
foreign Ministry (Ministry of External Affairs) has responded to Gulf countries like Qatar, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait on the controversial remarks about Prophet Mohammed. Issuing a statement, the ministry said that we are a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (ISIS).IOC) urge the Secretariat to remove its communal outlook and show due respect to all religions and religions. It is regrettable that the OIC Secretariat has again made a misleading and mischievous remark. It only exposes the divisive agenda being pursued at the behest of vested interests.
The Ministry of External Affairs further said that the objectionable tweets and comments defaming a religious personality were made by certain individuals. They do not in any way represent the views of the Government of India. Strict action has already been taken against these persons by the concerned bodies. Earlier, Qatar, Iran and Kuwait had summoned Indian ambassadors on Sunday over the BJP leader’s controversial remarks about Prophet Mohammad.
Important countries of the Gulf region condemned these comments and lodged strong objections. A spokesperson of the Indian embassy in Qatar and Kuwait said in a press conference, “The Ambassador informed that those tweets do not in any way reflect the views of the Government of India.” These are the views of narrow minded elements. Amid protests from the Muslim community over the comments, the BJP in a way shrugged off the statements of both the leaders, saying that it respects all religions and does not accept insults to the revered people of any religion. Due to these controversial comments, a campaign was also launched on Twitter in Arab countries to boycott Indian products.
