Delhi Police had registered an FIR against Lokesh Sharma in March 2021 on the complaint of criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust in the phone tapping case. This complaint was lodged by Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. However, the Delhi High Court has stayed the strict action against the OSD till January 13.

An audio clip of an alleged phone conversation between Gajendra Shekhawat and Congress leaders had surfaced during a dispute between the Sachin Pilot and the Gehlot faction. It was alleged that Lokesh Sharma had allegedly released audio clips of talks of a conspiracy to topple the Congress government. Based on this clip, Chief Whip Mahesh Joshi had filed cases with SOG and ACB in July 2020. At the same time, after reconciliation with the pilot camp, the matter went into cold storage.
‘Phone taps through legal process’
But the matter got heated again in March this year, when in a question asked by BJP MLA Kalicharan Saraf, the government admitted that the government had tapped the phones of some people by following the legal process. However, Lokesh Sharma’s allegations of phone tapping were dismissed. Had done it. There was a lot of uproar in the budget session of the assembly on this issue. Along with this, this matter was also echoed in the Parliament. In the assembly, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shanti Dhariwal had admitted that the Chief Minister’s OSD had made the audio viral.
