Petrol and diesel prices increased again

Domestic oil companies have released new rates of petrol and diesel and today the price of petrol has increased by 35 paise in the capital Delhi. After the increase of 35 paise in the price of petrol in the capital Delhi, the rate increased to Rs 104.79 per liter. At the same time, diesel is being sold at the rate of Rs 93.52 per liter. Petrol prices have increased by 35 paise in Mumbai. After this, the new rate of petrol in Mumbai became 110.75 paise per liter. At the same time, diesel also became costlier by 73 paise to 101.40 paise per liter.

Petrol price has increased by 34 paise in Kolkata. After this, petrol is being sold here at 105.43 paise per liter. At the same time, diesel is being sold at 97.93 paise per liter. Petrol is being sold at Rs 116.86 per liter and diesel at Rs 107.61 per liter in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan.

Diesel rates cross Rs 100 in these states

Fuel rates hit a record high in the month of October, as rates increased for seven consecutive days. Petrol and diesel prices have increased this month except on October 4, 12 and 13. In many states like Kerala, Karnataka, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar and Leh, the diesel rate has crossed the Rs 100 per liter level.

International benchmark Brent crude has climbed up to $82.37 per barrel. This could also be the reason for the increase in fuel rates. OMCs have increased the prices of petrol and diesel due to increase in the price of crude oil and petroleum products in the international market.

Auto fuel prices in the country vary from state to state based on VAT and freight charges. Apart from this, the central government levies excise duty on auto fuels. Oil companies revise the rates of petrol and diesel daily based on the average price of the benchmark fuel in the international market and foreign exchange rates in the last 15 days.

Petrol and diesel prices change daily at 6 am. The new rates are applicable from 6 am onwards. Although many times the rate remains the same even on the next day. After adding excise duty, dealer commission and other things to the price of petrol and diesel, its price almost doubles.
