The political temperature is going to be high in the winter session of Parliament starting from today. On the very first day of the session, a bill for the withdrawal of agricultural laws will be introduced in the Lok Sabha after two new members are sworn in and tributes are paid to the eight departed members. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will present a proposal for the withdrawal of three existing laws in the Lok Sabha today. Before the commencement of the House, there will be a meeting of the opposition parties of the Congress at around 9.30. However, TMC has refrained from attending this meeting.
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, in an all-party meeting called on Sunday ahead of the winter session of Parliament, demanded the government to take immediate steps to enact a law to guarantee minimum support price (MSP) on farmers’ produce. About 30 parties took part in the all – party meeting called by the government . In this, the opposition parties raised some other issues including Pegasus espionage dispute, inflation, agricultural laws, unemployment, tension with China on the Line of Actual Control and demanded a discussion. The opposition parties assured the government of positive cooperation on constructive issues.
Script ready for protest in the house
In the Lok Sabha today, when the government is trying to bring back all three agricultural laws, the road will not be easy for the government in the house. Since the announcement of the Prime Minister regarding the withdrawal of agricultural laws, opposition parties have also prepared a script to surround the government in Parliament. All the opposition parties, including the Congress, have issued a whip to all their MPs to appear in the Lok Sabha on November 29 and be in favor of the party’s stand.

Government’s request from the opposition

Bill for withdrawal of agricultural laws
Bills to repeal three agriculture laws are listed for introduction in the Lok Sabha on the first day of the winter session. The Cryptocurrency and Official Digital Currency Regulation Bill 2021 is listed in the list of bills to be introduced in the lower house during the winter session of Parliament. The bill seeks to create a supporting framework for the creation of an official digital currency issued by the Reserve Bank of India. In this proposed bill, it has been said to ban all types of private cryptocurrency in India. However, there are some exceptions to this, in order to encourage technology and its use related to cryptocurrency.
Electricity Amendment Bill 2021
An important bill related to the reforms is the Electricity Amendment Bill 2021, which is related to increasing competition in the power distribution sector and giving freedom to the consumers to choose the electricity distribution company. An important bill related to economic reforms is the Banking Laws Amendment Bill 2021. Through this, further amendments will be made in the Banking Companies Act, the Banking Regulation Act.

At the same time, the PFRDA Amendment Bill related to pension reform is an important bill related to economic reforms, through which it has been proposed to strengthen the pension sector of the country. In the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Second Amendment Bill 2021, it has been said to make the existing bankruptcy law more powerful.
