The central government has approached the Supreme Court today against the order of the Delhi High Court. The High Court had reprimanded the Central Government and asked the officials monitoring the purchase of oxygen and supply to the states including Delhi to be present during today’s hearing. The Supreme Court has allowed an immediate hearing on the case.
Solicitor General (SG) Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Center, said that it is unfortunate that the Delhi High Court has initiated contempt proceedings against the Center at a time when the Center officials are trying to give their best on the issue.
