Farmers are demanding that the Agriculture Department should take practical steps to control these diseases in the field of papaya growers. Papaya growers in Nandurbar district are worried about the various diseases that have been affecting papayas since the last three-four years.

Andhra Pradesh produces 14.72, Gujarat 11.86, Karnataka 5.24, Madhya Pradesh 4.55 and West Bengal 3.45 lakh tonnes of papaya.
