Benefits to orphan children under EPS scheme
- The amount of pension to orphan children is 75 percent of the monthly widow pension. This amount will be minimum Rs 750 per month. Two orphan children at a time will get this pension amount of Rs 750 per month each.
- Under the EPS scheme, pension will be given to orphaned children till they attain the age of 25 years.
- Apart from this, if the children are suffering from any disability, then they will be given pension for life.
What is the rule of EPS?
Let us tell you that to deposit money in EPS, the company does not deduct money from the salary of its employee, but some part of the company’s contribution is deposited in EPS. Under the new rule, the basic salary has been fixed up to Rs 15,000. According to this new rule, 8.33% of the salary is deposited in EPS. This means that even if the basic salary is more than Rs 15,000, but only Rs 1250 will be deposited by the company in EPS. EPS money is deposited for monthly pension.
It is mandatory for pensioners to submit Jeevan Pramaan (Life Certificate) or Digital Life Certificate for pension payment under the Employees’ Pension Scheme-1995 (EPS-95). Every year pensioners are required to submit life certificate or life certificate. This does not create any hindrance in getting pension.
