Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the slogan of sweet revolution inside honey to promote beekeeping in the country. Regarding which the Ministry of Agriculture has intensified its exercise. In fact, to increase the income of such farmers, the government is trying to connect them with beekeeping.
Preparations have intensified for the honey revolution in the country. In this episode, the World Bee Day being celebrated on May 20 is going to be special. Under which the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is going to organize a big national program on May 20 at Tent City-II, Ekta Nagar, Narmada, Gujarat. It will be launched by Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. Also, on this occasion, the Honey Testing Lab and Processing Unit set up at 7 places will be dedicated to the public. Whose virtual inauguration will be done by Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. The main objective of this event is to provide maximum benefit to the small farmers of the country by promoting beekeeping.
The United Nations General Assembly has declared 20 May as World Bee Day to create awareness about the important role of bees and other pollinators in keeping people healthy and solving various challenges in this context. Keeping this in mind, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is celebrating this important day by taking together all the beekeepers of the country, which will increase awareness. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will attend the program as the chief guest. On the other hand, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Chaudhary and Shobha Karandlaje will be special guests.
Honey testing labs and processing units have been established in 5 states
These 7 Honey Testing Lab and Processing Units have been set up by the Beekeeping Board. Which have been made in 5 states of the country. Which have been established in Pulwama, Bandipora and Jammu in Jammu and Kashmir, Tumkur in Karnataka, Saharanpur and Pune in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Prior to this, two world class state-of-the-art honey testing laboratories have been established. One of which is at NDDB, Anand, Gujarat and the other at IIHR, Bangalore, Karnataka.
Special program for beekeepers
The program being organized by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in Gujarat on International Bee Day is going to be special for the beekeepers. In this program beekeeper farmers as well as processors, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders related to honey production will participate. During this an exhibition will be organized with several stalls by the beekeepers, processors and various stakeholders of the beekeeping sector to showcase the different varieties and products of the beekeeping sector. At the same time, Indian Bank, the implementing agency of Madhukranti portal, will also set up a stall to run a lifetime registration campaign for beekeepers in the Madhukranti portal.
