Ajit Doval on Nupur Sharma Remarks: NSA Ajit Doval has said on Nupur Sharma case that it has damaged India’s reputation internationally.
Former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma (BJP Nupur Sharma) and the statement of the National Security Advisor (NSA) has come to the fore regarding the controversy arising out of expelled Naveen Jindal’s remarks on Prophet Mohammad. He said that this dispute (Prophet Muhammad Row) has damaged India’s reputation at the international level because they have presented the country in a way that is far from the truth. Doval has said this in an interview given on Tuesday. “It has (damaged India’s reputation), the way India is projected or propaganda is spread against it, it is far from reality,” he said.
He was asked the question whether India’s reputation has been harmed by the worldwide protests due to the dispute over the Prophet. Responding to this question, he further said, ‘We need to talk to them and persuade them. You will see that wherever we have gone, wherever we have spoken to the people concerned, whether within or outside the country, we have been able to convince them. When people get emotionally agitated, their behavior becomes a bit inconsistent. Along with this, Doval said that the recent attack on Sikh gurdwara in Afghanistan is sad and said that India is committed to help the minorities of that country.
Visa given to Sikhs – Doval
Doval said, ‘We have given a large number of visas to Sikhs and as soon as flights become available, some of them will come back. We are looking at this matter of Sikhs with great sympathy. This is a very unfortunate incident. We have assured the Sikhs and Hindus living there that India will stick to its commitment. On the killings of civilians in Jammu and Kashmir, he said, “It is a problem, we are dealing with it effectively.” There has been a change in the thinking of the people of Kashmir since 2019, they are no longer in favor of Pakistan and terrorism. Some youth are misguided, some terrorist organizations are still active, we are fighting them.
He further said, ‘If we have to protect our interest, then we will decide when, with whom, on what basis we have to establish peace. We want good relations with our neighboring countries including Pakistan but there is no tolerance for terrorism. On the issue of China, he said, ‘We have a dispute with China over the border area for a long time. It is clear to China that we will not tolerate any kind of violation. Efforts are being made to resolve the issue through discussion. We are also making sure that we completely protect our border.
