Now there will be no shortage of green fodder for animals, the administration is putting Napier grass, will be able to harvest many times

There are about 53 crore animals in the country. It was a challenging task for the farmers to arrange nutritious fodder for them. In view of this, scientists have developed a variety of grass producing more fodder in less space, which is getting the benefit of all the animal owners.

Animal farmers will no longer have to face the shortage of green fodder. On behalf of the administration the farmers (FarmersA special type of grass is being planted, which can give maximum production in less space and time. During the summer season, cattle farmers are troubled by the lack of green fodder. It affects the milk production as well as the health of the animals. In view of this, the Ghazipur district administration of Uttar Pradesh has started making arrangements for fodder.

Under the MNREGA scheme in the district, a plan has been made to stop Napier grass by selecting 22 pasture sites. For this, Chief Development Officer Prakash Gupta has started the work of planting Napier grass while demarcating the land in Agusta Salamatpur village of Sadar Development Block. Fodder is also needed for the permanent and temporary cowsheds built in the district, in view of which the district administration has decided to plant this grass.

This grass can grow in any season

The specialty of this grass is that it does not require much water. Napier grass can be grown in any season. It is the best fodder for the animals. There is no gas problem in animals by eating it and it is a very beneficial and nutritious fodder. This green fodder will be supplied to the villagers and the animals of the temporary animal shelter built under MGNREGA. Grass seed is being made available in the district through the Chief Veterinary Officer.

On the instructions of the state government, Rs 30 per day is spent by the government for the care and feeding of protected animals in gaushalas. In such a situation, instead of nutritious food, animals get only dry straw and nominal ration. Due to the lack of nutritious fodder, there are also complaints of continuous death of animals from cow-shelter sites. Now, so that protected animals can get green nutritious fodder throughout the year, so that Napier grass is being planted.

Regular green fodder to 100 animals from farming in one acre

The first harvesting is done after three months i.e. 90 days after planting Napier grass. After harvesting the prepared grass, cuttings of the shoots coming out of the roots can be done and transplanted to another place. Green fodder is available regularly to 100 animals from the grass planted in one acre area.
