Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced that a lockdown would not be imposed in the state. Rather, stringent restrictions will be implemented to prevent corona infection. Vijayan made the announcement in a press conference after a 2-hour meeting with all the parties and said that it was a general opinion not to enforce the lockdown. However, the cinema hall, mall, gym, club, sports complex, swimming pool, amusement park and bar were closed till further orders.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that only essential services and emergency services are allowed on Saturday and Sunday. Apart from this, shops and restaurants will be closed till 7.30 pm and home delivery will be allowed only till 9 pm. All social, political, cultural and religious functions / meetings were banned until further orders.

Private transport vehicles will also not be allowed and all will have to stay indoors. The number of people at weddings and funerals was reduced. In this all-party meeting, it was also decided to ensure that all district administrators strictly enforce the guidelines. Currently the curfew is in force from 9 am to 5 am and it was suggested.
It was decided to continue with the semi-lockdown protocol in force every Saturday and Sunday until further orders and only shops selling essential items would open and all others would remain closed.
Corona status in kerala
With the arrival of 21 thousand 890 new cases of corona virus infection in Kerala on Monday, the number of infected people in the state has increased to 14.27 lakh. 70 health workers are also involved in new cases of infection. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that after the death of 28 patients of Kovid-19 in the state, the death toll increased to 5 thousand 138. Along with this, 7 thousand 943 people were discharged from hospitals after getting healthy.
