In the initial investigation, it has been found that the jawan who carried out the alluring incident was a victim of depression. The question arises that after all, why is there increasing tendency among the police or paramilitary forces personnel of the states of the country to commit such dangerous incidents with depression and after that? The statistics related to the shocking facts related to the suicides by the soldiers posted in the paramilitary forces of the country were also released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) a few years back.
According to the data released by the NCRB for the year 2019, the death of Central Paramilitary Force (Para-Military Forces) or Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel is not new in India every year due to different reasons. The reasons for the death of these soldiers are shocking. That too when 36 jawans commit suicide within a year and take their own lives. Whatever may be the reason behind it. Because their solution can be discussed for a long time. In this data of National Crime Records Bureau, incidents related to Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Shastra Seema Bal, Assam Rifles, National Security Guard etc. have been included. According to the data, according to an estimate (as of 1 January 2019) in all these central security forces, about 9 lakh 23 thousand 800 jawans-officers were deployed.
104 soldiers died in one year
While collecting these data, NCRB had collected chronological data of Cause of Death (Cause of Death) of bravehearts who died in almost all central security forces of the country. These figures revealed that a total of 104 soldiers had died in our central security forces within a year (in 2019). NCRB had made two categories at the time of collecting the data of death of soldiers and officers in all these forces. Accidental deaths were included in the first category and suicide related deaths in the second category. After aggregating the data related to all the forces, states, union territories (in the year 2019), the one year figure of the death of paramilitary personnel killed in these two categories came out to 104. When the NCRB sorted the death figures category-wise, it was found that out of those 104 jawans-officers, the highest death toll – 62 (59.6 per cent of the total deaths) was recorded in the category only (deaths due to other causes).
Similarly, the second number was the Deaths due to Road/Railway Accidents (Death in Rail and Road Accidents) category. In this category, 24 soldiers had died in a year. Which was 23.1 percent of the total death (104) of soldiers in a year. Whereas in the year 2019 (in about a year) in Action/Operation/Encounters etc., the death toll of Central Security Forces stood at 14. Which was 13.5 percent of the total deaths that year. The National Crime Records Bureau data shows that out of the 104 jawans who died in that one year period, the cause of death of 8 could never be ascertained.
36 jawans committed suicide in the year 2019
14 jawans died due to their family reasons. The death of a young man was due to his bad image in the society. Similarly, a young man died due to some issue related to marriage. During this period, 3 paramilitary personnel died due to job related reasons. The most shocking number in the 2019 data collected by the National Crime Records Bureau is the suicide of 36 personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces. The manner of death of these 36 soldiers was suicide, but the reasons for the suicide of each soldier were different. According to the NCRB report, 14 out of 36 jawans (38.9%) who committed suicide were compelled to take such a step due to family disputes/problems. 3 jawans committed suicide due to service related issues. When we go to the bottom of the cases of suicides by 36 central paramilitary personnel in a year, more information emerges.
