The Integrated Health Information Platform is the next generation highly refined version of the currently used Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP).

The Health Minister of the country, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, launched the Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) on Monday. During this, he said that this day will be written in golden letters. We have started a new chapter in India’s public health history. It is the largest online disease surveillance platform in the world. India is the first country in the world to adopt such advanced digital surveillance system.
He said that the Integrated Health Information Platform is the next generation which is a highly refined version of the currently used Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP). The new version of IHIP will have data entry and management for India’s disease surveillance program. Now 33 diseases can be monitored as compared to the earlier 18 diseases. Apart from this, the current time data will be available in digital mode. Simultaneously, the method of working on paper-mode will end.
‘Ties Up with National Digital Health Mission’
Describing it as the world’s largest online disease surveillance platform, Harshvardhan said that it aligns with the National Digital Health Mission and is fully in sync with other digital information systems currently in use in India. He praised the NCDC, WHO and all those who were associated with this entire program.
Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that IHIP will provide real time, case-based information, integrated analytics, advanced visualization capability, developed health information system. Through this, analysis report will be found on mobile or other electronic devices. In addition, the activities of outbreak investigation can be monitored electronically.

The program organized online was attended by Health Ministers of several states, which included Balbir Singh Sidhu of Punjab, Alexander Lalu Hek of Meghalaya, Dr. K Sudhaka of Karnataka, Dr. Prabhuram Chaudhary of Madhya Pradesh, Jai Pratap Singh of Uttar Pradesh, Etela Rajendra of Telangana, TS Singh Deo of Chhattisgarh, Dr. R. Lalthanglia of Mizoram and Nagaland S. Pangnyu Fum included.
