Chhattisgarh DGP DM Awasthi said, 80 new camps have been set up from 2016 to 2020. Camps are growing in Naxalite areas in Lagatara forest, due to which the Naxalites have increased their fury.
Chhattisgarh DGP DM Awasthi.
In Naxalite attack on Saturday in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, 24 soldiers have been martyred. After this attack, questions are constantly being raised on the tactics of the security forces. The question is arising that how the Naxalites are succeeding in continuous attacks. Do the security forces need to change their strategy? According to the news published in Dainik Bhaskar, DMP DM Awasthi of Chhattisgarh has given his opinion on many issues.
Asked why we do not learn from the earlier attacks? He said that there is a review after the attack. The forest is so dense that there is always a possibility of attack. There is no question of lessons or omissions in this. Naxalites are well aware of this area. They enter the forest and know where to hide. In most cases, Naxalites are at a height. Therefore, the security forces remain at risk.
Villagers trust security forces
The DGP further said that the villagers now trust the security forces. For this reason, CRPF camps have been built up to the inside. Where security forces reach, development also reaches them. Security forces deployed in Naxalite areas constantly try to make better relations with the villagers. An example of this is that due to lack of better medical facilities, many times pregnant women have been taken to hospitals by helicopter. This creates a better image.
Development in Naxalite areas
Regarding how much development took place in Naxalite areas, the DGP said, “Things have improved at many levels. New schools, buildings and roads have been built. Where previously the Naxalites were occupied, today the road has reached there. But the problem is that every time Naxalites blow up school buildings and roads. “
He further said that the security forces are constantly building new camps. This encounter took place in Tarrem area, camps were also built there recently. From 2016 to 2020 80 new camps have been set up. Camps are growing in Naxalite areas in Lagatara forest, due to which the Naxalites have increased their fury. At the same time, the threat to security forces has increased even more.
How do naxalites target
Asked how the Naxalites target the security forces. On this, the DGP said that the challenge before the security forces is that they have to do operation within the scope of the constitution, knowing the difference between the Naxalites and the villagers. The security forces do not make the villagers shield, while the Naxalites use them as their shield.
Operation underway against Naxalism
The DGP said, “In the fight against Naxalism, paramilitary forces are working on the basis of strong strategy. The pressure against Naxalism has increased in the last few years, due to which the Naxalites have ended their occupation in many places. The security forces are continuously pushing the Naxalites inside. “
Jawans still in possession of Naxalites
There is a jawan in the possession of the Naxalites since the attack. When asked if there was any talk about it, the DGP said that the Naxalites have not given any proposal yet. Former Naxalites and journalists are trying to contact.
