Navratri 2021 is one of the most auspicious festivals for Hindus as it is dedicated to Mother Durga and her nine forms. The festival lasts for nine days and ends with celebrating the victory of Lord Rama on the tenth day, which is known as Dussehra.

During these nine days, many devotees observe a one-day fast to seek the blessings of the mother. However, there is another reason for fasting during this time.

As we all know that the weather is changing, and this is the time when people often fall ill, so to get used to such climate change people keep fast for 9 days. During this, devotees eat only fruits and are on a liquid diet.

It helps in detoxifying our body by removing toxins and cleansing it by consuming a special diet.

At the same time, it nourishes our body and makes our organs healthy. So as soon as the season of Navratri has started. Let us know how to keep your body healthy by following Ayurvedic diet in this season.

Follow the below given nine days fasting tips and diet which will help in staying fit and healthy for this festival:

Day 1- Day 3

The first three days (Day 1-3) are for cleansing in which soup made from green potatoes, white pumpkin, red pumpkin, bottle gourd, green moong, rajgira and buckwheat should be consumed. Consume coconut water and fruit salad to maintain metabolism.

Day 4 – Day 6

The next three days (Day 4-6) are for nourishing your body. For nutrition, fruit salad made from buckwheat, rajgira or moreo khichdi, apples, bananas, figs, apricots, etc. should be consumed with ghee.

Roti or pancake made from Rajgira or buckwheat, sama or moong khichdi should be taken for food. Dried fruits, coconut water, vegetable soup etc.

Day 7 – Day 9

The last three days (Day 7-9) are for building up the immune system and energy. In these days, smoothies made of white pumpkin, amalaki, pomegranate and banana should be consumed.

Include dates and figs with rajgira or buckwheat roti with coconut curry, or veggie and sago or sama kheer.

However, avoid heavy and fried food for the entire nine days. On the tenth day break the fast with light food, leafy vegetables and curd. Drink enough water to stay hydrated for the whole nine days.
