Nano Fertilizer: IFFCO developed Nano DAP, Nano Zinc and Nano Copper after Urea. After the completion of the field trials, IFFCO is in the process of joining the Fertilizer Control Order. Plants are getting ready for production, one thousand people will get employment.
After developing Nano Urea, now scientists are also working on Nano DAP, Nano Zinc and Nano Copper to revolutionize agriculture. Work on this is going on at the Nano Biotechnology Resource Center (NBRC) located in Kalol, Gujarat. So that farmers get some relief from lifting 50 kg sacks and exorbitant prices. In addition to Nano Urea, Nano Zinc, Nano Copper and Nano DAP have been developed in NBRC. Their field trials have also been almost completed. The process of adding all these to the Fertilizer Control Order is underway. After this work is completed, production will start. Due to less transportation cost, this nano fertilizer is helpful in increasing the income of the farmers.
It has been told that the trial of Nano DAP has been done on about two dozen crops at 1100 places of the country. It has been tested on various crops to see how much better it is than conventional DAP, Zinc and Copper. Like nano urea, the results of DAP and micronutrients have also been good.
Where are the plants being built?
Agriculture sector experts are hopeful that farmers will adopt DAP like nano urea. After its arrival, farmers will have to spray both the major fertilizers, urea and DAP, on the crops. Production plants for the production of Nano Urea, Nano DAP and Nano Micronutrients are under construction at Amla, Phulpur, Kalol (Extension), Bangalore, Paradip, Kandla, Deoghar and Guwahati. There will be no shortage of DAP after production starts in these. In the last Rabi season, farmers have faced acute shortage of DAP. There is a consumption of 313000 tonnes of DAP in the country.
How many people will get employment
All these units will have a production capacity of 2 lakh bottles per day. A total investment of 3000 crores will be made for their establishment. Out of which an amount of 720 crores has already been allocated. It is claimed that about 1000 people will get employment from these plants. In the initial phase, the bottles of Nano DAP and Nano Zinc, Copper, Sulfur Boron will be prepared in the Kalol unit of Gujarat.
Center was formed in 2018 to make nano fertilizers
Nano Urea was launched on 31 May 2021. One 500 ml bottle is equivalent to a 45 kg bag of urea. When it started getting success, IFFCO also started the work of Nano DAP. This year farmers can also get the gift of Nano DAP. It has been told that good results are being given in its field trials. The Nano Biotechnology Resource Center was established in 2018 to conduct research on various nano-fertilizers.
