Mumbai University (Mumbai University) is known as a top class university in the country and Maharashtra. Students from all over the country and abroad come here to take education. But RTI activist Anil Galgali (RTI activist Anil Galgali) has made a shocking revelation. According to him, 178 colleges affiliated to Mumbai University do not have principals (178 colleges without principals) Huh. These colleges are running on the basis of office bearers and employees without a principal. Under the Right to Information Act, Anil Galgali had sought a list related to the principals of colleges affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The College Teacher Recognition Department of Mumbai University handed over a list of 38 pages. The list contains the names of 808 colleges which are affiliated to the University of Mumbai. Out of the remaining 727 colleges, 178 colleges are running without a principal. There is no record with the university about 23 colleges.

The colleges in which a very important post like principal is vacant and which are running with the help of office bearers and staff, have the names of many well-known colleges. The list of such colleges includes KJ Somayya, Thakur Educational Trust, Shaheed Kalani Memorial Trust, Talreja College, Vartak College, Bombay Flying Club College, Ramji Asar College, Guru Nanak College Bhandup, Seth NKTT College, Jitendra Chauhan College, Manjra College, Rizvi College, Colleges like Akbar Pirbhoy College, Sanghvi College, Vivekananda College, Vileparle Kelvani College, Bombay Bunts College, RR Education College, HR College, Anjuman Islam College are to name a few.

Disturbance in 178 colleges, brokers started to dominate?

According to ITI activist Anil Galgali, it is the moral responsibility of Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant and Mumbai University Vice Chancellor Suhas Pednekar to take action against such colleges. While approving the new syllabus, on what basis did the Higher and Technical Minister and the Vice-Chancellor approved the proposal and when the principal is not there, on what basis the new syllabus was approved in such colleges? Has the sway of brokers increased in these colleges? There is a need to investigate this whole matter in depth.
