Following the incident, the state government had suspended four policemen and a jail superintendent on the evening of September 7. The four policemen who have been suspended include a sub-inspector, a head constable and two constables.

Madhya Pradesh (Madhya PradeshThe state government on Sunday removed the district superintendent of police following the death of a 35-year-old tribal man in judicial custody in Khargone district five days ago and stone pelting by a mob at Bistan police station in protest against it. The man, named Bisan, was arrested on September 4 by the Bistan police along with 11 others in connection with the robbery and dacoity in Kherkundi village of Khargone district. He was kept in Khargone sub-jail where he died on September 7 at around 2 am.
Angry over his death, a mob of over 100 tribals gheraoed Bistan police station in Khargone district and pelted stones on it on the morning of September 7, in which three policemen were injured and several vehicles were also damaged. Bistan police station is about 20 km away from Khargone district headquarter.
Following this incident, the state government had suspended four policemen and a jail superintendent on the evening of September 7. The four policemen who have been suspended include a sub-inspector, a head constable and two constables.
CM gave statement on the incident
State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan issued a statement on Sunday and said, “A young man had died in the incident in Bistan of Khargone district recently. We have already suspended some policemen. But due to lack of proper monitoring in the matter, we have decided to remove Khargone Superintendent of Police (Shailendra Singh Chauhan) as well.
He said, “Judicial inquiry is going on in the incident. The facts which will come on the basis of judicial inquiry, will take further action on the basis of those facts. We take every such incident seriously.” In this case, the main opposition party Congress has demanded a CBI inquiry. The relatives of the deceased allege that Bisan died due to police torture.
