In Madhya Pradesh (Madhya Pradesh), now Shivraj government is preparing to impose cow tax for cow protection. On Thursday, the CM instructed the officers to make a plan to levy tax for cow-grass. Along with this, the CM has asked to give the work of development of gaushalas to voluntary organizations.
During the review meeting of Madhya Pradesh Cow Husbandry and Livestock Promotion Board on Thursday, the officers were instructed to give work to voluntary organizations for the development of cow shelters in the state. Voluntary organizations can develop Go-shalas well by keeping the spirit of service. He directed to give grants to the gaushalas run by non-government voluntary organizations and to develop 6 gaushalas in the state as training centers.
Go-vansh Van Vihar will be established in Jabalpur
The Chief Minister gave instructions to establish Go-vansh Van Vihar at Gangaveer in Jabalpur district. He said that in Gangaveer, two thousand cows would be given shelter in a systematic manner in 530 acres of land of the Animal Husbandry Department. At the same time, ministry sources said that the Kamal Nath government had constituted a committee of principal secretaries of the Forest, Revenue, Health, Rural Development and Animal Husbandry departments to raise funds to open cow shaalas, while in the Shivraj government, after the in-principle consent of the Chief Minister, the cows were reared. It will be considered in the Go-Cabinet meeting on imposing cess for Rs. However, the authorities have prepared options for the sale of vehicles, registry and levying cess on liquor.
At present there are about 1300 cowsheds in Madhya Pradesh, in which 1.80 lakh cows have been kept. The Kamal Nath government had allocated Rs 20 per cow in the budget. In the last financial year, the budget of the Animal Husbandry Department was kept at Rs 132 crore, while in 2020-21 the budget was reduced to only Rs 11 crore. Shivraj Singh Chouhan government cut the budget by 90% for the service of cow. Now instead of 20 rupees, 1.60 rupees are given for the upbringing and food of a cow.
