Piyush Goyal said that this decision will create new jobs. Also, electricity prices will also remain under control. Approximately 32 thousand people will get employment. At the same time, indirectly about 1 lakh people are expected to get employment.
A big decision was taken regarding air conditioner-LED
The central government has also taken a big decision regarding white goods. The Modi government has announced a PLI scheme to promote the manufacturing of white goods such as AC (air conditioner) fridges, washing machines.
Piyush Goyal said that at one time we used to make air conditioners in India. But gradually foreign companies made their way into it. Now the situation is that 70-80 percent of the air conditioners in the country come from abroad. That is why the government has announced the PLI scheme for this.
He told that as the prosperity of the country is increasing. By the way, the demand for AC is also increasing. Its Compound Annual Growth Rate is 15-20 percent.
Recently, the government changed the policy regarding the import of air conditioners with refrigerants. Under this, it was removed from the free category and placed in the restrictive list. This prohibited the import of split and window or all other types of air conditioners.
Piyush Goyal said that despite the ban on AC, its equipment is brought from abroad. That is why the scheme has been announced to promote its manufacturing.
He told that India is the world leader in LED in the world. Under the Ujala scheme, the prices of LED lights have also come down. Also, manufacturing has also grown rapidly.
Manufacturing in MSME sector will increase with the decision of the cabinet. Because this is the kind of equipment that companies make here. In such a situation, lakhs of people will get jobs.
What is the government’s preparation
In the next five years, an incentive of Rs 1.46 lakh crore will be given to companies producing in the country. Due to this, the expenditure on import of India will be reduced by becoming a product in the country. When goods are made in the country, new employment opportunities will also be created.
Experts say that under this scheme, foreign companies will be helped to set up factories in India as well as domestic companies to set up plants. This plan is for 5 years.
