MLA Rajkumar has started criticizing the Congress as soon as the party changes. He said that the Congress is not aware of the ground reality at all.
After joining the BJP ahead of the Uttarakhand assembly elections, MLA Rajkumar criticized the Congress party for the work done for the welfare of scheduled castes in the country. Rajkumar, who won the 2017 assembly election from Purola constituency on a Congress ticket, said the Congress was unaware of the ground reality and dismissed its work for the SC as a “sham”.
MLA Rajkumar said that whatever the Congress party has done for the Scheduled Castes since independence is only a ‘sham’. Congress is not aware of the ground reality at all. Neither it has proper organizational structure nor coordination within the party. On joining BJP, Congress Uttarakhand President Ganesh Godiyal said that it does not matter who is leaving the party. If Godiyal is to be believed, many people of BJP are in touch with him.
Rajkumar’s counterattack on Godiyal
Rajkumar has also retaliated on Ganesh Godiyal’s remark. He said that he knew what was going on inside the Congress. These comments are baseless. No person from BJP is in touch with him. If BJP people are in touch with him, then why do Congress people join BJP? He has termed Godiyal’s statement as completely wrong.
Rajkumar praised BJP
The leader said that after joining the BJP, he would continue to work for the welfare of the people, especially those belonging to the Scheduled Castes. Appreciating the welfare activities of BJP, he said that he has always talked about the upliftment of Scheduled Castes and will continue to do so. Rajkumar was earlier in the BJP and left the Congress dissatisfied. He has once again returned home.
Assembly elections to be held in 2022
Rajkumar was the first Congress MLA and held the post of secretary in the state unit of the party. The importance of joining the party can be gauged from the fact that both Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and state unit president Madan Kaushik were present to welcome the Congress MLA to the party. Voting for the 70-member Uttarakhand Assembly is likely to be held in early 2022.
