Dr. Philip Mar Chrysostam, one of the oldest religious leaders of the country, died on Wednesday at the age of 103 in a private hospital at Thiruvalla in Pathanamthitta district. A church spokesman said that Philippos Chrysostome died due to aging.
Now on this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to him with his Twitter and said that he will be remembered for his rich theological knowledge and who will always relieve the suffering of the people. The PM also expressed condolences to the members of Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church in his tweet.

An outstanding religious leader and a humanist, the Reverend Dr. Philip Mar Chrisstom was awarded the Padma Bhushan by President Ram Nath Kovind in the year 2018. Famous Malayalam filmmaker, Blessy has also produced a documentary on the life and vision of Bishop named “100 Years of Mar Chrysostom.”
