The CBI, which is probing the Kanpur businessman Manish Gupta murder case in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, filed a chargesheet in the special court of Lucknow on Friday. The CBI in its charge sheet has held all the six policemen guilty of conspiring to kill Manish and destroying evidence. At present, all the policemen involved in the murder are currently lodged in Gorakhpur District Jail and it is believed that in this production, the CBI can take the accused to Delhi for trial. At the same time, the special CBI court in this case has fixed January 13 for hearing on the chargesheet.
It is worth noting that on September 27 last year, Manish Gupta had come to visit Gorakhpur with friends at Hotel Krishna Palace in Ramgarhtal area and in the night the policemen searched there and after that Manish Gupta was beaten to death. In this case, on September 29, police station in-charge of Ramtala police station Jagat Narayan Singh alias JN Singh, Inspector Akshay Mishra, Rahul Dubey and Vijay Yadav, Principal constable Kamlesh Yadav and constable Prashant Kumar were booked for murder on the complaint of Meenakshi Gupta, wife of Manish Gupta. was recorded. However, the accused policemen kept calling it an accident and kept hiding the matter. But after the matter came in the media, the state government constituted SIT for this matter. At the same time, all the policemen had fled after the murder. The Yogi Adityanath government of the state had formed a SIT of Kanpur police officers to investigate the matter in October and CM Yogi also met the victim’s family and recommended a CBI inquiry on Meenakshi’s demand.
Statements for 30 people in CBI’s 65-day probe
At the same time, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) started investigation in this case on November 2 and in the investigation which lasted for 65 days, CBI has recorded the statements of 30 people including the accused. At the same time, all the points related to this incident have been included. The CBI report said that the statements of the witnesses revealed that Manish Gupta died due to the beating of the policemen and that the policemen tried to tamper with the evidence.
Case can be transferred to Delhi
At present, this case can be transferred to the CBI court in Delhi and after that all the accused will be shifted to Tihar Jail in Delhi. Because after transferring the case to Delhi, the CBI will cross-examine the matter in the Delhi court itself. On the other hand, after shifting the accused to Tihar Jail, their problems may increase.
