Heat stroke has claimed 25 lives in Maharashtra in the last two months. The highest death toll has been recorded in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. Never in the last 6 years have there been so many deaths due to heat wave in the state.
Maharashtra (MaharashtraAfter the havoc of Corona, now the heat wave (Heat Wave) is starting to wreak havoc. Heat stroke in the state in the last two months (Heat stroke) has taken the lives of 25 people. The highest death toll has been recorded in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. Never in the last 6 years have there been so many deaths due to heat wave in the state. According to the data of the Health Department, 374 cases of heat stroke have been registered in the months of March and April. Whereas experts believe that the actual number will be much higher than these. In some areas of Vidarbha including Nagpur, the temperature even crossed 45 degree Celsius. In the month of April, the name of Chandrapur was recorded as the fifth hottest city in the world. The temperature in Chandrapur had gone up to 46.4 degree Celsius.
In Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, especially in Chandrapur, Akola, Yavatmal, Wardha, Yavatmal, Brahmapuri, Amravati, the temperature reached above 45 degree Celsius. The temperature in North Maharashtra, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada also reached 42 degrees to 44 degrees Celsius. In the month of April, the temperature in most of the districts of Maharashtra was recorded above 40 degree Celsius.
Vidarbha recorded maximum death, 11 deaths recorded in Nagpur alone
In this way, the maximum heat in Maharashtra is falling in Vidarbha region. In the last two months, out of 25 deaths due to heat stroke, 15 deaths have occurred in Vidarbha region. Out of these 15 deaths also 11 deaths have been registered in Nagpur, 3 in Akola and 1 in Amravati. Of the 374 cases of heat stroke that have been reported, Nagpur department alone has registered 295 cases.
Horrific figures of death also came from Marathwada and North Maharashtra
Apart from Vidarbha, frightening figures of those who died of heat stroke have also come out from Marathwada and North Maharashtra. There have been 6 deaths in Marathwada. Out of these, 2 deaths have occurred from Jalna, 1 each in Aurangabad, Hingoli, Osmanabad and Parbhani. There have been 4 deaths in Jalgaon, North Maharashtra.
In view of the rising heat, the Union Health Ministry wrote a letter to the states
In view of the concerns of rising heat, the Union Health Secretary has written a letter to the states. In this letter, instructions have been given to send the daily report of IDSP to the National Center for Health Control (NCDC). At present, the Meteorological Department has predicted the heat wave to persist for the next 3-4 days. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has alerted the states to arrange immediate treatment facilities to the patients falling ill due to heat wave to deal with the heat wave and appealed to the states to cooperate in preparing a national plan. A call has been given to issue guidelines regarding heat wave in the districts.
