There is confusion in the mind of the student and guardian about the Maharashtra Board’s tenth and twelfth examination.
Last month, the state government decided to cancel the Maharashtra Board’s Class X examination in view of Corona. It was said that only the 12th examination will be taken. CBSE had also decided to cancel the Class 10 examination. But a petition was filed in the High Court against the decision to cancel the Class X examination. Hearing on that, the High Court had reprimanded the state government asking the reason for the decision to cancel the Class 10 examination. Therefore, the question remained in the minds of the students and parents that what is going to happen about the exams of class X and XII? To overcome this confusion, State School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad today took the Press Council and clarified the role of the state government.
In this regard, Varsha Gaikwad said that he will clarify the situation after discussions with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray over the next two days, assessing the questions raised by the High Court and the policies regarding the central government examinations. He told that she is going to meet the Chief Minister in this regard on Monday.
Students’ interest is important
Citing the situation related to Corona, Varsha Gaikwad said that the discussion of the third wave is common. In such a situation, if someone in a family has a corona, then what is the mood of the students associated with that family, it is a matter of understanding. In such a situation, whatever decision will be taken will be taken keeping in mind the physical and mental conditions of the students in the circumstances of the corona transition phase. The number of twelfth students in Maharashtra is 14 lakhs. The number of students of CBSE is 25 thousand.
Tenth exam will remain canceled
The High Court had questioned the cancellation of Class X examination. Talking on this, Varsha Gaikwad said that we will make the High Court aware of the situation. This is an extraordinary situation. Children are visible in the second wave and the third wave is going to be fatal for children. We will mention such a situation in front of the court. The court will consider it sympathetically in this context, it is our hope. Right now we are talking to the experts on the criteria of admission in the XI.
