It is alleged that the Aghadi government did not even provide a lawyer to argue in favor of political reservation of OBC society in the Supreme Court. Congress state president Nana Patole has raised this question. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and NCP chief Sharad Pawar will have to answer this.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will organize a state-wide agitation on Wednesday (September 15) on the issue of OBC’s political reservation. BJP alleges that the Maha Vikas Aghadi government led by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has betrayed the OBC society. OBC reservation was lost in the state due to this betrayal and negligence of the Aghadi government.
BJP State Vice President Sanjay Kute and BJP OBC Morcha State President Yogesh Tillekar have made this announcement. He organized a press conference to announce a statewide movement. They allege that the Aghadi government did not even provide a lawyer to argue in favor of political reservation of OBC society in the Supreme Court. These BJP leaders said that Nana Patole, the state president of Maharashtra Congress, a partner in the government, has raised this question. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and NCP chief Sharad Pawar will have to answer this.
OBC reservation gone because of the betrayal of the state government
The BJP alleges that for the last six months, the Aghadi government has been procrastinating about the political reservation of OBC society. BJP has been continuously asking the Aghadi government to initiate immediate action to collect the imperial data related to the OBC society. But the Aghadi government has sat on its hands for the last six months. To collect the imperial data, the government constituted the Backward Classes Commission but did not give the funds. As a result, today preparations have to be made without reservation for the elections of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samitis.
While speaking in the Journalists’ Council, MLAs Kute and Tilekar accused the Mahavikas Aghadi government and said that next year there is an election for the municipal, municipal, district councils. But without giving reservation to OBC society, the time has come to hold these elections. The Aghadi government would have presented a strong argument on behalf of the OBC society in the Supreme Court. Had already collected the Imperial data related to OBC society by forming Backward Classes Commission in the state, then OBC reservation would not have gone. Let us tell you that the Supreme Court had canceled the OBC political reservation in Maharashtra saying that the reservation limit cannot exceed 50 per cent in any condition. Also, no more than 27 percent reservation can be arranged for OBCs. OBC reservation in Maharashtra was crossing this limit.
