Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh has been on fire since last 3 days. It is being feared that the reason for this is the dispute between the villagers and the forest department.
Bandhavgarh Forest Reserve has been on fire since last 3 days
Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh has been on fire since last 3 days. Hundreds of hectares have been destroyed by forest fire. Many wild animals have been casualties due to this fire. Although the official data has not yet been revealed about the damage caused by the fire, but it is feared that in several hectares the forest wealth has been destroyed due to fire and many wildlife have also been caught in the fire.
If sources are to be believed, the reasons for the fire have not yet been properly ascertained, but it is believed that there is a great negligence of the forest department behind causing such a huge loss. Sources reveal that some time ago in the villages around this area of Bandhavgarh, large scale wild animals spoiled the standing crop in the fields. After which the villagers are going round the government offices for compensation. At the same time, there has been a dispute between the department and the villagers for a long time about the wage of villagers.
Trouble between forest department and villagers
Sources reveal that the relationship between the forest department and the villagers in the Bandhavgarh area has deteriorated in recent times as the villagers are not getting good response from the officials of the forest department. Therefore, there are two possibilities, first, that a villager got angry and set fire to a part of the forest and that fire continued to go awry. Secondly, the villagers were aware of the fire, but due to the resentment, they did not inform the forest department on time.
Why is the relationship between the villagers and the forest department important?
In times of fire and other similar matters, the Forest Department’s coordination with the villagers is very important. The border of the forest is open. Now, whether it is the movement of a dangerous wild animal or the hunter’s movement, the forest department and administration depend on the villagers in the name of information system. Therefore, it is considered very important to have a good relationship between these two. In fact, many such cases have been reported earlier that when the reasons for the fire were investigated, it was found that this arson was done under the conspiracy.
Conspiracy of wood mafia and mahua pickers?
According to experts, this wood may also be a conspiracy of mafia and mahua pickers because it is the right time to pick mahua and also hunt. Due to the loss of foliage, it is seen far away in the forests, hence the movement of hunters / wood mafia / wood and mahua pickers increases, so by putting fire in one part, these people continue to do their work in other part of the forest because the forest department fire Is busy extinguishing.
How did the fire come when satellite warning comes?
According to forest expert Ajay Dubey, the forests of the entire country are now connected to the satellite. In such a situation, if there is a fire anywhere, then information is available immediately. But in spite of satellite warning in Bandhavgarh, if there is a fire for 3 days, then it will be called a failure of the forest department. That too when most tigers are in Bandhavgarh. Drinking water and protection from fire are prepared before the heat rises in these forests. But this was not done which shows the negligence of the department.
