Internet services restored after 5 days
Internet services in Lakhimpur Kheri have been restored after 5 days. Net services were disrupted after the Lakhimpur violence. On the other hand, the United Kisan Morcha on Thursday announced to hold a meeting today i.e. on Friday to plan ahead on the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. The SKM has said in a statement that it is waiting for the arrest of Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra.
The UP Police on Thursday arrested two persons in connection with the October 3 violence in Lakhimpur Kheisi district. According to a notice, Ashish Mishra has been asked to come to the police lines at 10 am on Friday. The SKM had earlier warned the Center and the UP government that a massive campaign would be launched if the demands for the removal of the Minister of State for Home and the arrest of his son were not met.
Objection to Aulakh’s statement
The SKM has also condemned the statement of Uttar Pradesh Minister Baldev Singh Aulakh. Aulakh had given a statement that the Lakhimpur Kheri incident was an accident. SKM has demanded to withdraw the statement.
Farmers claim Ashish Mishra was present at the spot
Eight people were killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. Four farmers were also involved in this. Farmers were crushed by vehicles going to an event organized in the area by BJP workers on their way to welcome Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. The other four include three BJP workers and a journalist. The farmers present at the spot claim that Ashish Mishra was riding in a vehicle. However, Ashish’s father Ajay Mishra has denied this. He said that he can present evidence that his son was in another place at that time.
