Communal harmony is part of our culture. Another local resident, Haji Shakeel Rafiq, said that people here celebrate all festivals together, whether they follow Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Sikhism or any other religion. Rafiq told that during the festivals of Eid, Hindus, Christians come to our homes and we participate in their worship.

Tight security arrangements during Durga Puja

Let us inform that in view of the dangers, Kolkata Police has made security arrangements to thwart any terrorist attack during the nine-day Durga Utsav. It has been decided to deploy commandos of Combat Battalion and Special Strike Force at 38 points in the capital. Along with this, 31 rapid patrolling teams have also been set up. A large number of police forces have been deployed around the puja pandals.
