Haryana, which is facing water crisis, is now trying to promote ponds. So that there is no shortage of water for irrigation. If there is a shortage of water, then agriculture will be affected, which will have a bad effect on the income of the farmers. Now the Haryana government has decided to give grant up to 70-100 percent on individual and community pond construction. This amount is up to Rs 20 lakh.
A state government official said that online applications can be made for this on Khushal Horticulture Portal (hortharyanaschemes.in). The applicant will also have to get his land and crop registered on ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora Portal’. A similar scheme is also running in Rajasthan but the amount of grant is very less there.

For this, the estimated cost per unit will be up to Rs 20 lakh. On this, the government will give 100 percent grant. Under this, the maximum grant area will be 50 acres.
A pond with a filling capacity of up to 31.50 lakh liters will be constructed for the individual category. The estimated limit for this would be Rs 10 lakh per unit. 70 percent subsidy will be given on this. That is, the farmer will get Rs 7 lakh. Under this, the maximum grant area will be 25 acres.

The officials of the Agriculture Department, Rajasthan have given 60% of the cost to all categories of farmers (along with an additional grant of 10% of the cost is payable from the head of the state) or the maximum amount of Rs. 63,000 on new farm pond and Rs.90,000 with plastic lining work (300 microns as per BIS norms) less grant will be payable.
