Government will organize a special corona vaccination campaign in Karnataka on September 17
A special corona vaccination campaign has been planned to speed up the corona vaccination in Karnataka. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday said that the government will organize a special COVID-19 vaccination drive across the state on September 17, with a target to deliver 25 to 30 lakh doses on that day.
Bommai said, “We are running a special vaccination campaign on September 17 in all districts including Bengaluru. I have held a video conference with the Deputy Commissioners of the districts in this regard. Our aim is to introduce more and more vaccines this month, so it has been decided to conduct such special campaigns.”
Speaking to reporters after a meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts and officials involved in COVID-19 management, he said, the ministers would join the campaign from their respective districts and they would be in Kalaburgi that day.
He said, “Our target is to give 25 to 30 lakh doses on that day. This is a big target because till now we have given maximum 12 lakh doses. I have asked the officials to create the necessary infrastructure and involve the private sector in it.”
On the other hand, if we talk about the data of corona vaccination across the country, 78,66,950 doses of corona vaccine were applied in the country in the last 24 hours, after which the total number of vaccinations has gone up to 75,22,38,324.
4.49 Vaccine Doses with States and UTs
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed on Tuesday that more than 72.77 crore doses of Corona Vaccine have been given to the States and Union Territories so far. The Health Ministry said that so far 72,77,98,325 doses have been provided to the states and union territories through all sources. The ministry also informed that in addition 1,60,75,000 vaccine doses are present in the pipeline. According to the data released today, more than 4.49 crore (4,49,03,025) COVID vaccine doses are still available with the states and union territories, which are to be administered.
