Former Karnataka minister Ramesh Jarkiholi has been found corona infected. Due to difficulty in breathing, he was admitted to Gokak Taluk Hospital. Ramesh Jarkiholi is facing sexual harassment charges. Dr. Ravindra of the hospital said that on Thursday night, he (Jarkiholi) had complained of fever and cough, after which he was tested with rapid antigen method, during the investigation, he confirmed his infection. He had no other problem and was asked to stay at home.
The doctor said that at around 10:30 pm last night, he complained of trouble in breathing, after which he was admitted to the hospital, where treatment of corona is underway. He told that his glucose level and blood pressure have increased but, his condition is stable. They are currently placed in the ICU. Two people who came in contact with him have also been confirmed to be corona infected.
Ramesh went to Maharashtra and Bengaluru before the transition
Dr. Ravindra told that Gokak MLAs had gone to Maharashtra and Bengaluru, where there are more cases of infection. After returning from there, he underwent corona examination on getting enough, in which his report was found positive.
Jarkiholi is facing allegations of sexual harassment and did not appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for health reasons. He was interrogated on March 29 and asked for four days to answer the questions. Jarkiholi’s lawyer Shyam Sundar told reporters in Bengaluru that the last time he received a notice for questioning, his client was ill.
The doctor at Jarkiholi said that he had a cold and body pain and had some problems related to the eyes. He had told the investigating officers and told them that he would appear the other day. No notice came after this. Urban Development Minister B Basavaraj had also said in the day that Jarkiholi is infected with Corona virus and will take part in campaigning for the Belgaum Lok Sabha by-election if the infection is free. The by-election is to be held on 17 April in Belgaum Lok Sabha seat of Belagavi, the home district of Jarkiholi.
