Jyeshtha Gauri Avahan 2021 is one of the most important festivals of the Marathi community as it is dedicated to Goddess Gauri i.e. Parvati. This special festival is celebrated during Ganesh Chaturthi and is celebrated for three days starting from Jyeshtha Gauri Avahan, followed by Jyeshtha Gauri Puja and ending on Jyeshtha Gauri Visarjan. Also known as Gauri Puja or Jyeshtha Gauri Pujan, this year the auspicious festival has started on 12th September and will end on 14th September, 2021.
On this day the Marathi community worships Lord Ganesha and Mata Gauri. Married women observe a day’s fast for three days to seek blessings for the betterment of their family and children. According to Marathi belief, even unmarried women can fast for the ideal husband.

Jyeshtha Gauri Avahan 2021: Significance
According to the belief, on this day i.e. two days after Ganesh Chaturthi, Mother Parvati had descended on the earth from Mount Kailash. In addition, Gauri Puja is considered as the worship of Goddess Lakshmi in some regions. Like Lord Ganesha, the idol of Mata Gauri is brought home with great pomp and enthusiasm. And after three days the devotees do immersion, that is, say goodbye to the mother.
Jyeshtha Gauri Avahan 2021: Worship Method
– Wake up early in the morning, take a bath and wear clean clothes
– Decorate the temple of your home and install the idol of Mata Gauri
– Dress Mata Gauri in new clothes and jewelery
– Do tilak, offer incense sticks and flowers
– Offer mantras and offerings
– End the worship by performing aarti
By doing this festival with full statute, special blessings of Lord Ganesha and Mata Gauri are received and they also fulfill all your wishes. It is considered very fruitful to observe this fast.
