Joint operation of Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police, ammunition recovered in heavy friendship – 3 arrested

He said that 1 Armscore AK22 rifle, 1 point 22 mm Colt pistol, 2 shotgun shells, 5 empty cartridges (.22 mm) and more than 100 cartridges were recovered from the possession of the three accused. The three accused were identified as F Lalremumpuia (21), a resident of Khatla, Lalremurata (36) from Sihfir Wenglun and Laljadinga (23), a resident of Khamrang village near Aizawl. The three accused were handed over to Aizawl police station.

Many militant organizations have given up arms

Songbijit was the head of PDCK. Prior to this he was the Commander-in-Chief of the banned National Democratic Front of Bodoland. He was involved in many incidents including murder. Welcoming the dedication of 1040 people from Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts, Sonowal said that his government was working to make Assam a militancy-free state.

Police claimed to end extremism in these three districts

A senior police official had said that along with the laying down of arms by seven militant organizations like PDCK, Dima Halam Daogah and Karbi People’s Liberation Tigers, the militancy would end in three districts of the state – Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao.
