Government will open coaching centers in militancy affected areas (symbolic picture)
The state government is opening coaching centers in the insurgency affected areas of Jharkhand. Under this, arrangements have been made for free coaching for civil service candidates by the government in the affected Latehar district, which has been facing Left Wing Extremism (LWE) for a long time. Now the facilities for civil service candidates will be available within the district limits. Latehar district administration has inaugurated an ‘Integrated Coaching Center’ for the youth of the district who are living on the margins of the society but have big dreams for their future. There is no facility available for the youth in this field to prepare for competitive exams.
Initiatives being taken in Naxal affected areas
The administration in the insurgency affected areas also recognizes that candidates from weaker economic sections did not have access to quality coaching and find it difficult to move out of the inaccessible hilly areas to fulfill their dreams. Therefore, to overcome this problem, it was decided to create a society based on equal opportunity. In this way the administration envisioned ‘Integrated Coaching Program in the district’ and coaching classes could be started.
130 students studying
The coaching center established in the middle of Latehar district headquarter is facilitating more than 130 students selected from across the district. The selection of students is based on their past academic record and a basic selection test conducted by a team of expert faculty appointed at the centre.
Duration of coaching classes
The Civil Services Preparation Coaching program for the first batch is scheduled for a duration of 6 months. According to India Today, during this period, the candidates enrolled for coaching will be taught as per the syllabus of UPSC, JPSC, SSC and other competitive exams.
Facilities available in coaching center
A library has been arranged for self-reading in the coaching center premises. Where there will be various books required for the preparation of competitive exams, essential books for current affairs. Experienced teachers from various disciplines have been brought in to ensure quality education at the centre.
Coaching center has all the basic facilities
Additionally, to ensure guest lectures, serving IAS and PCS officers, specialist teachers from top civil services coaching centres, digital infrastructure with WiFi and projector facilities has been set up at the centre. Also Latehar Deputy Commissioner Abu Imran DC keeps visiting the center at regular intervals to deliver late guest lectures.
Scheme will be started in other districts also
CM Hemant Soren says, “The government is committed to ensure that students from every part, corner and section of the state get quality education and an opportunity to make their dreams come true. In this regard, a free coaching program has been started in Latehar. More such facilities will be started in other districts after the impact assessment of the pilot project.
